U-87 MG human glioblastoma/astrocytoma cells were cultured in MEM supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, 2 mM L-glutamine, 100 U/mL penicillin, 100 μg/mL streptomycin sulfate, and 1 mM sodium pyruvate, until confluent. An aliquot of the cell culture supernate was removed, assayed for human Axl, and measured 1,712.6 pg/mL.
