The V5 antibodys shows clear band in western blots. But if you use this antibody for IP, the background is so strong that it is hard for you to find your band.

In immunoblot of HeLa total cell lysate, this antibody gives several no specific bands in the negative control sample (cell lysate from no transfected cells). Whereas it doesn't recognize any specific protein in cell lysate from HeLa transfected with a plasmid for exogenous protein in frame with V5-tag. In immunofluorescence of transfected HeLa cells this antibody give a very faint signal.
