Product Information

KE00307 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human TNFSF18 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human TNFSF18. The assay recognizes human TNFSF18. An antibody specific for human TNFSF18 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human TNFSF18 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human TNFSF18 is added to detect the captured human TNFSF18 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

TNFSF18 is also named as Glucocorticoid-induced TNF-related ligand (hGITRL). GITR is a gene coding for a member of the TNF receptor superfamily. GITR activation by its ligand (GITRL) influences the activity of effector and regulatory T cells, thus participating in the development of immune response against tumours and infectious agents, as well as in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. GITR-GITRL interactions co-stimulate both responder T-cell functions and the suppressive functions of TReg cells. GITRL is expressed at high levels in the small intestine, ovary, testis, kidney and endothelial cells.
