Product Information

KE00276 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human ATG7 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human ATG7. The assay recognizes human ATG7. An antibody specific for human ATG7 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human ATG7 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human ATG7 is added to detect the captured human ATG7 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

ATG7(autophagy-related gene 7), is an E1-like enzyme that is specifically involved in autophagosome formation and is essential for autophagy. ATG7 acts as an important regulator of autophagy with starvation-induced or chemotherapeutic agent treatment. ATG7 also regulates immunity, cell death and protein secretion, and independently regulates the cell cycle and apoptosis. ATG7 has been reported to be associated with growth and invasion through multiple mechanisms in a few cancers, such as hepatocellular carcinoma, bladder cancer. The high expression level of ATG7 is related to the survival of patients with breast cancer.
