Background Information
DOM3Z also known as DXO, NG6, is a 396 amino acid ubiquitously expressed protein. This gene localizes to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class III region on chromosome 6 and possesses RNA 5'-pyrophosphohydrolase activity. Chromosome 6 contains 170 million base pairs and represents nearly 6% of the human genome. Partial deletion of the q arm of chromosome 6 is associated with early-onset colorectal cancer. DOM3Z is ubiquitously expressed, with high expression in the testis (PMID: 9799600).
