Background Information

POLR2I, also known as RPB9 or hRPB14.5, is a small core subunit of RNA polymerase II involved in DNA repair and many transcription-related processes (PMID: 21450810). It is expressed in many tissues and may play a key role in the pathological process of hypertensive nephropathy (PMID: 34422001).
